Rochester, New York, Marketing & Student Experience Coordinator 7436BR Golisano College of Computing & Info Sciences GCCIS – School of Information Detailed Job Description The Marketing & Student Experience Coordinator is responsible for increasing student engagement and satisfaction. Under general supervision of the School of Information (iSchool) Assistant Director, the Marketing & Student Experience Coordinator will assist in the coordination, communication, and implementation of outreach activities, events, and the overall iSchool student experience. In particular, this position is responsible for: All marketing materials and communications including social media presence, posters, digital displays, brochures, and any other marketing materials needed. Regular content update for School and program webpages Event planning and execution for School and student-led events Collaboration with School’s academic advising team to support student extracurricular activities Provide support to the School’s student clubs: attend event planning meetings, create promotional material, assist with event planning Support and establish connections with organizations, as well as alumni sponsorship for club involvement.

Other duties as needed Department/College Description The College: The Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences prepares students to change the world through computing; GCCIS is home to the departments of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computing Security, School of Information, and the School of Interactive Games and Media. The college’s PhD program in Computer and Information Sciences is ranked 74th in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report and 63rd by CSRankings.org. The college has over 130 full-time faculty and more than 3,600 undergraduate and 950 graduate students.

The Department: The School of Information (the iSchool) is one of six administrative units within the College of Computing and Information Sciences; the School creates and applies knowledge in the field of information science, to bring together people, information, and technology. The iSchool oversees academic and curricula development for both undergraduate, and graduate students, pursuing degrees in three undergraduate BS programs, four graduate programs, and an advanced certificate program – including programs in computing and information technologies, human-computer interaction, data science and analytics, and web and mobile computing. The iSchool provides leadership, administrative, financial, and logistical support to more than 700 undergraduate and graduate students with 28 faculty and 7 staff in Rochester, and also provides support of the School’s degrees at RIT’s global campuses in Croatia, Kosovo, and UAE.

The School is among the university leaders in terms of grant generation and publications, and faculty include winners of university awards for teaching and research, as well as professional leaders, including ACM SIG chairs. The School is also home to several labs and research centers, especially in the areas of human-computer interaction, accessibility, and data analytics. The School also plays a large research and delivery role in the university’s Computing for All efforts, to foster greater inclusion in computing and information sciences. Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience: Associate’s degree or at least 3 years of experience in event planning/management and/or marketing & communications.

Successful candidates must possess: Outstanding organizational, time management, and written communication skills, attention to detail Ability to work with a team, network and develop rapport with a diverse set of stakeholders, and work with minimal supervision Intermediate to advanced computer skills, basic web manipulation (HTML, photoshop, illustrator) Strong presentation skills.
