Chicago, Illinois, Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: Creates and copy edits content that brings Chicago Harrisâ™s student/alumni experience to life in real and meaningful ways (e. g. , interviews, blogs, newsletters, emails, videos, infographics, social media, and other long/short form communications). Authors and coordinates articles for the Admissions Blog.

Project manages editorial oversight of Admissions Blog content from external contributors (staff, research centers, faculty, alumni, and freelancers). Project manages select SRGO communications and marketing outreach efforts Manages marketing operational updates in Slate including template changes, event communication updates, and email format and template design. Manages operational aspect of events in Slate, Zoom, and on the Harris website, including writing descriptions and content, posting, and managing attendee access and recordings, and updating platforms as necessary. Assists in development and execution of the annual marketing/communication calendar and CRM management.

Goal is to increase awareness, engagement, and conversion activities. Implements marketing strategies and upholds unique brand positioning (voice, tone, messaging) across all customer journey communications and nurture campaigns. Engages in market research and development / review / update of marketing infrastructure. Implements branded messaging through all content to ensure the consumer voice and relevant brand components are accurately and consistently represented across Harris channels.

Partners with internal stakeholders to increase engagement with key audience segments; develops and assists in leading initiatives to support new and ongoing strategies and tactics. Supports efforts to test, track, and provide insights into the funnel activities that drive key audience segments; evaluates and makes recommendations for platform, communications. Oversees student workers assisting with Slate, web, and event updates. Develops marketing communications, advertising, or publicity materials with a moderate level of guidance from others.

Develops, plans, and coordinates the development and production of marketing and publicity materials and campaigns, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. Performs one or more of the following marketing functions: marketing communications /advertising; Web blogs or digital marketing; market research; development or review and update of the marketing infrastructure and management of external sales agency relationships. Monitors, analyzes, and reports on sales and circulation activity. Analyses possible solutions using standard procedures.

Conducts market research, analyzes results and develops marketing strategies based on findings. May participate in developing new products and services, and determining new markets. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelorâ™s degree in English, journalism, marketing, business, communications, or related area.

Masterâ™s degree. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Familiarity with Slate, Drupal, Google analytics. Preferred Competencies Proficiency with business writing skills and good creative writing skills. Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills.
