Marketing and Content Strategist | American Massage Therapy Association

Chicago Area, General Summary: The Strategist, Marketing and Content is responsible for helping develop and implement marketing strategy through digital advertising, social media, email, web content, branding guidelines and collateral materials that increase AMTA membership and non-dues revenue.  In this capacity, the Strategist, Marketing and Content works to understand and define the needs of the organization and related membership. This position will work with appropriate departments within the organization to implement business and marketing plans and ensure that those plans are on budget and on deadline.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages assigned broadcast email, direct mail, print, advertisement(online, print and social media) and web marketing campaigns from concept to delivery;
Develops and executes Marketing Content Calendar with input from the Marketing team. Collaborates with other departments to ensure calendar and content is timely and relevant.
Works with Knowledge Transfer department to co-manage organic social media marketing efforts to promote membership, member benefits, events, and to compliment paid social media efforts.
Collaborates with Website Strategist to develop and maintain website content for the various intended audiences.
Takes the lead on the overall branding and marketing of AMTA’s annual National Convention, Student day and Schools Summit.
Assist with design improvements to website and other communications channels to improve marketing functionalities. This includes benefits positioning on the website.
Help establish content cadence for appropriate message distribution/engagement touch-points including Web, email, mobile, and social media.
Ensures the overall AMTA brand across the organization, including voice, graphics, adherence to style guidelines, etc.
Manages relationships with designers, copywriters, printers and other associated vendors. Must be able to negotiate pricing and timing to ensure promotions remain on schedule and within budget;
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to draft various types of planning documents including business plans, marketing plans, annual plans and budgets; Experience in setting goals, objectives, strategies, tactics and measures for marketing campaigns.  Experience with the pricing and discounting; sales and delivery; and communication and promotions of member benefits and/or products.
Excellent overall communicator, including written, oral, and interpersonal; ability to write clear and compelling copy a must;
Experience managing vendor relationships, collaborating with designers and copywriters, and handling inventory, fulfillment and service issues in a product marketing environment;
Strong project management skills including attention to detail and follow-through, as well as ability to manage several projects at once;
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in his/her work style to better respond to multiple requests/tasks, shifting priorities and informational needs as the business continues to grow;
Must be a team-oriented person who can share information, goals, opportunities, and successes with the appropriate parties.  Must be able to communicate and collaborate with staff at all levels and in all departments in the organization as well as external vendors, partners, and suppliers.  Must be able to bring cross-functional teams together in order develop and implement projects and plans.
Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently, understands the need for detail in the midst of work being done within a much larger picture;

Education and Experience:

At least 3 years of experience using Google Analytics plus an in-depth understanding and background in digital advertising including the following platforms: Facebook, Bing, Google (PPC).
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field with at least 5 years of experience, preferably in a membership marketing, consumer marketing, product management or product development environment;
Familiarity with interactive online media, including web-driven, broadcast e-mail and social networking.
Experience with a membership organization preferred;
Computer literacy, specifically with MS Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. 

This position may require some evening and weekend work.  Must have the ability to travel.
