Avon, Connecticut, Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy is seeking a personable, highly motivated, and strategic Recruitment & Marketing Associate to help drive institutional growth. Key responsibilities include:

Leading recruitment efforts for diverse, mission appropriate students for both TMSC’s Saturday, vacation, & summer programs, as well as year-long admission for the K-8 day school
Implementing a strategic approach to increasing enrollment through a broad range of tactics and resources
Collaborating with members of the administration, faculty, and staff to ensure that the full process of recruitment and enrollment are effectively managed
Establishing and maintaining relationships with educational consultants, youth organizations, educational associations, and other groups that may help identify mission appropriate students
Representing the institution at all recruitment events, fairs, etc.
Facilitating and leading on-campus and virtual tours for prospective students and families
Promoting, in conjunction with administrative staff, recruitment and enrollment initiatives via social media, print materials, and other efforts
Accessing and maintaining, as appropriate, database systems relevant to enrollment inquiries, applications, financial aid, etc.
Supporting program, event and membership communications with e-newsletter creation, flyer distribution and online postings
Assisting with website updates and social media posts
Printing and distributing marketing materials as needed for community events, programs, sales and marketing

While every effort has been made to provide a thorough list of position responsibilities, the above list is not exclusive, and the position may require other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor. The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in independent school enrollment.  Knowledge of STEM/STEAM fields, as well as gifted & talented education, are ideal.  The successful candidate will have a keen ability to effectively present the mission of TMSC to a broad range of constituencies, forging and establishing relationships to benefit the organization.   The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, and possess a professional presentation and attitude.  Furthermore, the successful candidate is, at minimum, technologically adept working with MacOS and iOS; we strongly prefer candidates with experience using Microsoft Office, InDesign, Constant Contact, iMovie, Photoshop, Canva, and others.  The ability to collaborate and demonstrate flexibility are essential.  The role will include regular local travel, as well as the possibility of regional, overnight travel; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
